Opinions are a Dangerous thing: Art StylesThis isn't about narking on anyone no, infact this is just my own muses really! You could say this is a journal for ENCOURAGEMENT! *SHINES*
I find sticking to one style restrictive if you are a beginning/moderate artist! (even professionals I might say! though I can't speak for everyone)
Having a distinctive look on how your art is done and produced is understandable and its a desire to appear unique to the point some one can just SEE your work and instantly think 'Oh! that's Ten-days!' or something along the line. However, when you are trying to find who you are and what kind of art you are to produce, I recommend trying, well, a lot of different things! Different styles, mixing styles, different colouring techinque, brushes, tools, shading. Don't feel dependant on what you are already doing and don't feel pressured by people just for trying new things!
Push out of your comfort zone. Can't draw hands? don't avoid it! draw the heck out of them! (how else are you going to learn?)

Nintendo STEALS Money!Since this has been going around lately, I should probably give my two cents. Basically what it amounts to is that Nintendo has filed Content ID info of their games with YouTube. What this means is that if you upload gameplay video of a Nintendo game, YouTube will automatically monetize that video, put ads on it, a link to where to buy the game, and take the money generated from that video and give it directly to Nintendo. People who do "let's play" videos are, naturally, pissed off because they want to be earning money off their videos, so they're calling Nintendo "thieves" for doing this.
I can see both sides to the story. I can see Nintendo as a corporation wanting to exercise control over their properties. On the other hand, "let's play" videos can often help new gamers find games they otherwise wouldn't have tried.
But here's the thing: Nintendo isn't the first company do this. Both Microsoft and Ubisoft do it already. YouTube has also had a long history of having music videos and

Pony Raffle/Giveaway?

How many of you, bronies or otherwise, would be interested in participating in a raffle of sorts? I absolutely -love- making these little guys, even just for the sake of making them, but it'd be nice to share them with the community and maybe get a few bucks to pay for the supplies here and there.

So I propose a raffle, of sorts. Hypothetically speaking, it'd be a monthly/every-other-week thing (depending on interest) where you guys have the option to purchase virtual "tickets" that will enter you into the raffle for a chance to win either a pony of your choosing (mane cast/background/OC) or I might also let you choose a pony from a selection of a few that I'll make prior to it. I'd also like to have a second place, maybe third, with similar prizes, so more people have a chance to win things. I'd also like to have a monthly or every-other-monthly "giveaway" where I'll make a journal like this and have everyone post which ponies they'd like, and randomly select someone to gift a pony to!

If this idea blows over, I will be accepting commissions. I'm out to buy more clay tomorrow to get started on a Trixie (w/ hat and cape) and a Pinkie Pie (with hat and suit? from one of the episodes. ^^) I don't have any sort of set prices, especially for ponies I've yet to make, but if you're curious or interested do feel free to shoot me a PM here or my email is eneha@live.com, and I can be reached there. Thanks for all the continued interest, everyone! From the comments/PMs/emails I've been getting, it sounds like there's a lot of interest in commissions/purchasing ponies. So I think I'm going to do some reworking, get this little side website up that I've been working on, and have not only the raffles and giveaways, but an official page for submitting commissions as well as the occasional ebay auction and/or sale for some of the popular ponies.

Again, I'll be getting all the information hashed out in regards to the shipping and rules for raffle. Non-US bronies, we'll have to work something out about shipping (which I'll talk/ask about later), but I'm not going to rule anything out now. Postage can get wicked expensive (I used to do cosplay commissions and sent some items to UK/Australia), but these little guys are tiny (and quite sturdy!) so I should be able to get some quotes and see what I can work out, I don't mind spending some on postage to ensure everyone has a chance. X)
